Meet the Mayor

Welcome to Meadville. I am Mayor Lane Reed, and I would like to welcome you to my charming hometown. Meadville offers small-town values, an excellent school system, quality medical care, friendly churches, organizations, and a wide variety of businesses. We welcome you and offer our help to new residents, businesses and industry.

Board of Aldermen

The Town of Meadville is governed by a Mayor and Board of Aldermen who serve as legislative representatives of the Town of Meadville. They meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. They discuss issues affecting the residents of Meadville, suggest improvements, control finances and discuss ways to help the town grow.

Town Attorney

The Town Attorney serves as legal advisor and attorney for the Town of Meadville. She represents the town official and departments in matters associated with existing as well as future operations.

Municipal Court

It is the duty and goal of the Municipal Court to provide our citizens and users of the court efficient, fair and impartial justice in order to protect each citizen’s right to due process, under the laws and ordinances of our town, county and state. The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over civil and criminal misdemeanors and town ordinance violations. The Municipal Court sessions are held at the City Hall on the first Thursday of the month at 4:00 p.m.

Town Clerk

The Town Clerk’s office is frequently considered the center of the town government. The Town Clerk works directly with the Mayor, the Board of Aldermen and the public. The position has the responsibility of preparing the agenda for all board meetings and attaching copies of all proposed ordinances and resolutions for distribution to all members of the Board. The clerk is also responsible for keeping all town records, recording the official actions of the Town Board and assisting with municipal elections.
